Is it just period pain or something more sinister?

Whenever i have my period i get pain down below. It gets worse when i sit on the toilet or sit with my legs crossed. I do exercise 3 times a week even on my period and i find that it hurts to squat. I do get some cramps in my lower abdomin but this lasts for the 1st two days and goes away. My period only lasts for 4 days and then any pain i have had goes away. I have no pain during or after sex or bleeding between periods but i am on the pill so i dont know if this is affecting anything. It only started after i had dd two years ago but i didnt think anything of it and now after looking online i have freaked myself out with endometroisis and pelvic inflammatory disease. My period also isnt heavy or painful. Just slightly heavier than spotting (tmi)

Not quite sure what you are asking...

is it that you get period pain or vaginal pain? Where is 'down below'?

You might want to think about easing off the exercise and the squats during a period. It's just possible you could have a slight vaginal prolapse after giving birth and squats are really bad for anyone with anything like a prolapse- they make it worse.

Its just slight pain (like a dull ache) around the vaginal area but only when i have a period any other time is perfectly fine, it feels like the skin gets slightly tighter where i had stitches, ive made a doctors appointment for monday, i dont know if it is related to period pain

TBH I don't think this is a 'biggie' at all. it's not worth bothering your dr over. When our hormones drop to their lowest level (during a period) all kinds of changes can happen to muscles and ligaments. Maybe the answer is to ease off the exercise at that time if it's bothering you?

I think it's quite normal for old scar tissue etc on the perineum to be a bit sore or different during a period because hormones affect the vagina and perineum.
