Breast thickening/lumps in pregnancy

Hi everyone

Hoping someone might be able to offer some words of comfort/advice as I am worried sick! I'm 33 weeks pregnant and about 3 weeks ago noticed a small lumpy area/thickening on the side of my left breast. I immediately booked a GP appointment and she could feel it to so referred me to the breast clinic where I have been today. Consultant could feel a thickening so sent me off for an ultrasound and mammogram. There is a definite thickening of the breast tissue but also they think a slight thickening to a lymph node in my left armpit. Had core biopsy taken of the thickened breast tissue and node and have to go back for the results on Friday. Basically they don't know either way what it is; it could be normal pregnancy changes or cancerous. I cannot stop crying. I also have a little girl of nearly 4 and can't stop thinking about her having to grow up without me 😢. Feeling very upset and worried. Does anyone have any experience of anything similar, particularly in pregnancy?

Thanks so much x

I had a lump appear during my pregnancy. It was sort of at the start of my armpit, where my breast finished. I had it looked at but they put it down to usual pregnancy changes. It disappeared after I had been breastfeeding for a while.

I also have had previous lumps in my breasts which have been biopsied and turned out to be nothing. I know it's scary but lumps are really common. Breast cancer is very high profile so it's easy to panic. You've done the right thing by getting it checked out. Best of luck OP.
