Rather embarrassing, but I have chafing on the top inside of both thighs and it really hurts...one side is all inflamed and boil-like

What is it from? Have been doing a fair bit of sport and it has happened before but I thought I'd see if I should actually be going to the doctor about it? SO embarrassing though, not sure I can make myself show anyone.

i sometimes get this, and i know its not from sport or exercise as i never do any . mine get red and itchy but also weep a bit when they're really bad. i've been putting vaseline on at night which helps a bit, have also tried sudocreme too but vaseling seemded to be better

When this happens to me, I put moisturiser on them before I go out.

Talc?

Try some GErmolene to help with the inflammation - it contains a local anaesthetic so makes it less painful.

I've had this once, when I was a couple of stones overweight. We were on holiday and going for a walk. I was wearing a dress, so no fabric to separate thighs (as there would have been with shorts) and it was very hot. Combination of heat, sweat and thighs rubbing together produced horrible chafing, just as you describe, so I sympathise with you.

Do you have any cycling shorts that you can wear to stop them rubbing together while they heal?

Yeah, I get this sometimes. Less as I've lost some weight.

You need fabric between your thighs. You need to use vaseline or similar to soothe it.

wonder if it is because I am too heavy...? I am not overweight on the BMI scale but I am heavier than I used to be!

you could also try putting on some lanacane powder before doing sport - it is a medicated powder you can get over the counter at the chemist. It helps with chafing and keeps it getting worse.
