Sharp pain in right hand side

I quite often get a pain in my right hand side. It's sharp and worsens when I breathe in. I have to lean onto my right side and take shallow breaths to alleviate it and then it goes.

Is this a normal thing (I.e. Digestion related) or a sign of something worse?

I'm always worried about wasting GP's time so don't want to go if it's 'nothing', iyswim?
