Great news about Homeopathy! Proved to be the most effective treatment in 0 out of 64 illnesses!

www.independent.co.uk/life-style/health-and-families/health-news/homeopathy-therapeutic-dead-end-systematic-review-no-evidence-it-works-a6884356.html

"Professor Paul Glasziou, a leading academic in evidence based medicine at Bond University, was the chair of a working party by the National Health and Medical Research Council which was tasked with reviewing the evidence of 176 trials of homeopathy to establish if the treatment is valid.

A total of 57 systematic reviews, containing the 176 individual studies, focused on 68 different health conditions - and found there to be no evidence homeopathy was more effective than placebo on any"

But my great auntie Maureen's best friend's sister grew her leg back with homeopathy so it definitely works!

Don't knock it until you've tried it!
I know of at least 10 people via FB that have been entirely cured of stage 7 cancer just from chewing algae once a week, before food. And by eating only unicorn eggs. I think this study is just by some quack who isn't open minded.

Don't they know you can't test homeopathy in the same way as other medicine? It doesn't work like that.

Anyway, Jeremy Hunt likes homeopathy so it must be true he's the health secretary after all.

Looking forward to seeing Homéopathes sans frontières saving lives in Gaza and Syria. I know someone who set up a homoeopathy clinic for people with HIV and Aids in Botswana, many years ago, before retrovirals were available there. Can't begin to list the ethical problems I had with that...

That's great news! The water clearly needs to be diluted only one more time, and it could be the most effective treatment in 0 out of 128 illnesses. Thanks!

NHS apparently spends 4million on homeopathy.

I can't seem to link from my phone but if you Google homeopathic hospital and NHS the second link I got was about the hospitals.

A gp friend told me about it as she was telling me about a friend of hers who was a former gp and became a homeopath! in my mind I'd imagined GPS wouldn't!

I think it goes to prove that there is a lot of psychosomatic illness around which it helps with.

Try telling someone their illness is psychosomatic and you will get short shrift.

Imv if homeopathy/ acupuncture/ reiki / speaking to a nice friendly doctor cures your psychosomatic illness then they are all saving the nhs money.

If you ban some these treatments you will have 'ill' people trailing back and forward for tests and treatments in the NHS forever - costing the tax payer millions. I'm all for psychosomatic cures.

In the 1990s, BMJ also published a peer reviewed article about homeopathy working in cases of allergic rhinitis.

This was not put down to the placebo effect, as the style of consultation had been controlled, and it was properly double blind.

Funnily enough, they didn't feel the need to go and help with the Ebola epidemic, even though they were adamant they had a cure for it.

Allergies come and go- there one day and not the next.

Then the rates would have been similar in both groups, and they weren't.

Or have you spotted a flaw in the methodology which means that was inadequately considered in that specific study?

I think we only tolerate homoeopathy as far as we do because most people who use it do in fact turn to conventional medicine when there is something seriously wrong. It's scary when you have family members who are fervent homoeopaths and will not take themselves or their children for conventional medicine even in significantly threatening situations [bitter experience emoticon].
