Is this just a migraine?

Tuesday evening, I had a headache so bad that all I could do was lie in my bed with the light off in utter silence. Spent most of the night very hot, head still thumping right behind my eyes.

Since yesterday, whilst the pain in my head has dulled to a quiet ache, I have been experiencing nausea, head spins, vertigo, blurry vision in one eye and a high temp. I tried going to work today (bad move, staring at a screen and typing only made the nausea and vertigo worse) but only lasted 2 hours. and I shouldn't be on my phone now but wanted to ask about it

Is this a hangover from the migraine or possibly something else?

There is no such thing as "just a migraine"! They are hell. Initially sounds like migraine but you don't get temperature and not usually the vertigo normally people struggle to sit up bc of sickness or pain. sounds like could be virus/ear infection with some migraine symptoms.

But if you never had a migraine before I would get it checked out at doctors just because blurred vision can be very things and with balance problems best get basic exam done check nothing more serious going on.

When I get a migraine I don't get a temperature, although I can feel hot and cold with the stress of it, but it feels different from having a temperature with a cold or other virus. I do get hangover from migraine, but more tiredness and a dull headache than all the symptoms you have described. My visual disturbances also only usually last for 10 mins to an hour at the beginning of the migraine and not the next day. I realise that many people who experience migraine will have different experiences to me, but if i were you I would go home and rest and ring the GP for a telephone consultation if your surgery offers this. When I had my first migraine I had no idea what was happening to me and I rang the surgery in a panic as I was home alone with a 2 year old and a new baby, but they recognised the symptoms and reassured me and a GP rang me a couple of hours later to check on me and offer advice to alleviate symptoms.
