Bloody Verrucas!

For over 10 years I have had a circular white patch under my foot, not big & not painful but very much a verruca (little black spots under the surface of the skin). I'd left it alone apart from brief forays into 'carving' the little bugger out until I got bored & decided it wasn't worth the bother.

4 weeks ago, another appeared on the ball of my other foot and this time, there was a black root sticking out. I immediately tweezered it out & decided I was going to finally get rid of them in as brutal a fashion as I could handle!

Today, I have holes in both feet from a combination of Bazukka Extra strength, T-tree oil, duct tape, tweezers & nail scissors. It's been a bloody painful few weeks, but I have been consistent & spent far too much time looking at other peoples verrucas/stories online. I think I may have gotten rid of at least one (the oldest one) and the other is near the top of the foot with lots of 'mushy black stuff', so I am assuming it's close. What I can't decide, should I be expecting a huge lump of verruca to fall out of my feet as per the All Knowing Dr Google, because if so, then I am not even close to getting rid of either and if not, I am feeling a little cheated after putting in so much effort with much anticipation!

Feeling very fed up & would like to walk around without having something stuck to my bloody feet!

Any advise would be much appreciated.

Oh, gawd, I'm probably not the best person to ask as I almost died from the pain of obsessively trying to get rid of my verruca as once I finally got "the hole" I still persisted in freezing/treating the inside of the hole and then was up all night writhing in agony from the pain. (with no sympathy from my DP I might add)

I never had a lump fall out per se just the mushy bit and then a hole and I was worried that it would come back but it didn't. Sounds like you may be in with a chance of it being gone.

They are awful feckers. I hope it's gone!

Er, not that you actually asked me - I should have said "I'm probably not the best person to answer" - I do realise that you weren't asking me

Ah, thank you, that's good to know (not the writhing in agony part obviously)! How long did you persist with treating the 'hole' after the black stuff came out if you don't mind me asking. I really don't want them to return after all this effort!

Good god, don't treat the hole - did you treat the hole?

I regretted treating the hole because it hurt so much. I only treated the hole one time but I did treat it aggressively that one time (i.e. used a lot of product) and then spent all night in really bad pain.

I don't know if treating the hole was the final nail in the coffin for the verruca but it did hurt like hell.

Not sure if that is helpful.

Oh god, no I haven't yet (you may have successfully put me off doing so too)! The first hole was so sore I left alone apart from tea tree oil & it has filled in a little after a week of healing but I was thinking for the second foot which seems to have black bits scattered around the edges more than the other did.

I had a monster verucca on the base of my foot that i had for years. When i first noticed it i was getting weekly liauid nitrogen treatments from my doctor, which didnt do anything. Doctor told me it was a cluster verruca of around 15 different verruccas all in one small area.

In the end i just gave up on it, and it went away all on its own.

From my experience they appear to be little buggers who only go away when they decide its time, no matter how much/what sort of treatment you have.

Well, needsmoretime here's the thing, if, after all that treatment that I did on my medium sized verucca, when I was left with a hole, if I'd had some of the black bits around the edges, I probably would have still treated the shit out of it. It's probably bad advice but if I were you, with the black bits still there, I'd keep on treating. But I'm relentless like that.

I HATE the verrucas and I was so sick of it and even though the treatment of the hole was painful it may have actually been what got rid of the thing - I don't really know.

And I treated with the freezing stuff and acid, I didn't mess around with the Tea Tree oil, tape or other stuff.

Good luck!

Thanks, I'm determined to get rid of them this time, I will not be doing this all over again in 6 months time so I'm prepared to do anything bar chop my foot off. No pain, no gain!!

Thanks for all your help.

I went for it, cleaned out all the old Bazukka & any dubious looking bits, then filled 'the holes' back up. Bloody hell it stings (probably should have waited for evening rather than morning), I'll certainly be having a huge glass & more tonight! Anyway, fingers crossed the little b*stards are gone now!
