Rash under chin

I know this is a very minor thing, but I wondered if anyone else has trouble washing underneath babies double chins! My DS (4 months) gets loads of milk collecting under there and I try to wash it out but its really difficult to get his head back enough so it seems to stay damp there even when I try to get the towel under his chin after his bath. He's now got a spotty rash under his chin (you can only see it when he - very rarely - puts his head back but it looks very sore) - should I put anything on it?

lie him on his tummy so he lifts up his head. Then get in there with the sudocrem.

I've been using sudocreme under his neck now for about a week and its made no difference - I've been putting it on about three times a day. It seems as though what it needs is exposing to air, but because of the folds of skin it just chafes against his clothes!

Will keep trying but very difficult to keep dry - he's not keen on being on his tummy so will hold his head up for a few seconds and then goes face down so neck never gets any air!
