Hangover without drink

Does anyone else get this? I e waking up feeling hungover without having a drink the night before?

A few months ago I had a load of blood tests for feeling tired all the time and they came up negative so I don't think it's anything to do with that: diabetes, iron, thyroid excetera.

I do have problems with my neck concerning the discs. I also sometimes get migraines and I know I snore a bit according to my husband. What could it be?

It might be migraine related, I get hangover like symptons

do you have a gas boiler?

When this happened to me, it was carbon monoxide poisoning from our malfunctioning boiler.
The guy who came to test couldn't believe we hadn't died.

If it is at all possible, please turn your boiler off, air the house, and get someone in to check.

British Gas will come out for free to check, but they may slap a condemned notice on your boiler.

One way to check is that headache improves when you get fresh air. It was also the dead head feeling of a hangover, hurts when you move, rather than headache pain, if that makes sense.

queenofthepirates, that's interesting. I came on this thread because I thought "hangover without drink - that's exactly me for the last two days". I had a migraine on Monday night...

Sorry OP, but just to say yes I get that feeling too sometimes.

I hadn't thought of that. Maybe I should get it serviced. Saying that, dh and kids are ok.

I get this when I grind my teeth at night. It also gave me migraines so the dentist made me a splint to wear at night.

Cohld it be dehydration?

Sleep apnoea? You could approach your GP, say I'm tired all the time, I'm a heavy snorer, can I be investigated for sleep apnoea? You wear a monitor overnight - oxygen saturation /heart rate etc.

I get a horrible feeling in my mouth some mornings and I think it's acid or indigestion. Could be dehydration for some people.

My mouth does feel dry and often does even though I drink a lot . I tested negative for diabetes

I might ask about the snoring. Maybe it could be sinus even.

I know I sometimes clenchmy teeth too.

There is a bit of a hormonal connection too so migraine is possible

Another thing is I am constantly craving salt when like this

I also tested negative for diabetes, but still if I have a load of sweet things in the evening (like a time-of-the-month amount of ice-cream or chocolate) I wake up with a hangover.

Is your heating on overnight? I experience that when I stay at my parents house.

But lately I've been having the same at my own house and suspect it is iron related (previous iron level issues), have you had your iron levels checked?

I get this. In fact, just the other week, I was googling it to see what the cause could be.

I suspect, in my case, it is dehydration - - though I can't quite figure out why I am getting so dehydrated. I drink a lot during the day. I've had my bloods done, so it isn't anything else.

Heating is off. Last iron ok but did have slightly low ferritin a couple of years ago . I have frog loving in cupboard. Might be worth a shot

Could be dehydration, that can cause a hungover feeling, headache, sore throat, tired, dizzy..
Could be sleep apnoea, this will feel like you are constantly tired and have terrible brain fog! It's easy to be tested in your own home. It's really important to rule it out as it can be dangerous for your heart if you don't get it sorted.
Tiredness is really difficult to get to the root of. It's just a case of eliminating as many things as possible. If your bloods came back normal, that's great.

I get this regularly too. I know that being really tired or dehydrated affects it. It does sometimes turn into a full blown migraine type headache (complete with vomiting).

A couple of weeks ago I went to a chiropractor, who said that some of the disks at the top of my neck were twisted. She did some manipulation and, as I walked out, it felt like something was just pouring down my neck. The relief was amazing and I haven't had a bad one since. Might be worth a try?

Good luck, it's awful.

That is interesting. I am having physio on my neck. I might ask if it's related. She said it can cause headaches

Are you drinking enough water? Too much caffeine/sugar?
