Monitor their temperature - take it every half hour. If it doesn't come down, you can give them half a tsp of baby nurofen too. Otherwise, keep cool by bathing in luke warm, not cold, water and cool clothing.

I don't want to scare you 'cos it's unlikely, but if it gets really high (and I mean 104°F - not sure what it is in Centigrade), there is a risk they will fit - if they do, you call 999.

I took my ds to A&E with a temperature of 104°F and they just told me to take him home, dose him up with calpol/nurofen and ring 999 if he had any trouble breathing or fitted...

Try to take baby to your GP, I don't want to scare you, but it's always best to check it out. On the plus side, it's a sign that baby's body is fighting whatever infection he/she has. How old?

I found when my ds had a temp of 40 that baby nurofen was brilliant. It took a few minutes for the temp to go away, but keep baby cool and don't wrap up in blankets. I was also told by the triage nurse in A&E that they could fit once their temp reaches a certain centigrade. Just watch baby carefully

My ds goes off food as well when he is ill so don't worry about that too much. Also, when they have a cold, they can find it difficult to feed because their nose is blocked up. Agree with making sure they get lots of water, ie. b/f and you get lots of water. Otherwise, sleep when you can, because if he doesn't get enough food during the day, he will probably be up more than usual in the night...

Just checked on an internet conversion site and apparently 104°F is 40°C. HTH.

I don't know and I was really worried about what might happen with ds overnight, but he never had any problems. As long as you dose them up with calpol when you put them down, check their temperature if they wake up and give more medicine if appropriate, I would hope you'd be okay...
