gah! cough question (again!)

I've been hacking away for 7 weeks now, I did have an infection that had antibiotics and an X-ray afterwards as hadn't fully cleared. Then I got ill again. X-ray took a week to come back and was clear. So I didn't go to GP. Then over Xmas felt bad again and often wheezy.

GP could hear something still there last week. Said to see how I went.
It's settled into a sort of odd pattern of evening and early morning. I got an inhaler and I do think it helps.

I'm worse again today after work and all sorts of whistles and creaks going on, clear mucous at times, funny taste at times.

Do I just persevere or go back to GP again? I'm not totally sure I can cope with work on weds as I'm getting such little sleep and work has made it worse today. I'm not feeling the woozy ness of an infection though.

Don't want to waste gps time!

Your GP said to see how it went, if it's affecting you as much as it is, then it's not a waste of GPs time! A little time off work might not be such a bad idea, either.

Hope you're feeling better soon.

I know I'm many ways it's a silly question!

I've now been told that it's usual for the airways to be inflamed for some time after the bacteria have gone. I didn't realise how bad it can be and for how long and was worried about going down hill with another infection- I've never experienced these symptoms with the many, many coughs I've had!

I think I've got to work out if I need to convalesce or not. I'm recovering from other things too; I've lost confidence in judging my level of fitness. I used to just battle on.
