Breast pain can anyone advise

Basically over the last 4 days I have been having some discomfort on one side, it feels like when I was breastfeeding and I would get a bit engorged. I stopped breastfeeding 2 years ago and have no other symptoms or obvious lumps. It's more of an ache then a sharp pain. I will try and get a appointment this week but was just wondering if anyone has any experience of this? I'm early 30's with no breast cancer in family history. Could I get a blocked duct so long after stopping feeding?

I had pains similar to your description when breastfeeding which turned out to be thrush in the milk ducts.
I also had sore itchy nipples and used daktarin cream (for athletes foot?!) which helped!

Does your bra fit properly? i had a badly fitting bra which caused me a lot of breast pain. Where are you in your cycle? Could be lots of things by far the majority being benign.

I have this in my left breast. I've been told I have fibrocystic breast tissue which is benign. I've been having some problems recently again and general lumpiness so my GP has referred me to breast clinic. She did an examination and she couldn't feel anything of concern but just to get it checked. I have just turned 35. App is wed evening.

Yours could be any number of things too as the op have said. Mine gets worse nearer period!x

I have a very similar feeling in my left breast for 4-5 days every month. I've been to see the GP, she had a good feel and couldn't find anything nasty. As the pain comes and goes roughly the same time every cycle she thinks it's a hormone thing. At the moment I'm tracking it every month, if anything changes I'll go back and see her again.

I've been to the GP with similar breast pain on one side. Nothing sinister apparently. The misbehaving boob is also lumpier than the other side and is also my bigger boob of the two.

I've stopped wearing boned bras recently and gone back to non wired (amazing how supportive they are!) and it has really helped. I have never been able to get a boned bra to fit me properly as I'm slightly lopsided.

I'd get it checked out to put your mind at rest as its a new symptom.

Breast pain is not a symptom of breast cancer. But go to the GP anyway.

Breast pain IS very much a symptom of cancer.

Having said that there are many ,many other things that could be causing the pain.

Always get anything you are worried about checked out with the doctor.

Thank you everyone, I will go before Christmas for peace of mind. I have been measured with in the last 6 months for bras and am a 34 C so not very big, underwired bras feel comfortable. As for my cycle I am about 5 days post period. It feels like a blocked duct but the skin is not red and the breast tissue feels soft. It probably is just a hormonal change but I will get checked out. Thanks again Flowers
