er, the sh*t SR is too busy thinking about her dinner, shoves whatever it is they put up your fanjo (not that she's told you she's shoving anything up there right through your uterine wall, and causes massive rupture. They then have to open up your belly ( having delivered 4 children pv you now have large section type scar) and find lifting/drving etc very painful for next few weeks. you were expecting to be out same day (bf 1 y.o) spend 5 days in hospital, the antibiotics they then give you give your one yo terrible diarroheoa (sp!) and so forth
should have sued the stupid s** but didn't.
only risks they mentioned were those of failure

do check the side effects. my mum had this done and regretted it as no-one told her she would get menopausal symptoms.

menopausal symptoms are not a result of sterilisation meysey. Depends what age your mother was.

I have been sterilised without any bother at all.

Very sorry to read your experience Loshad. Were you having a D&C at the same time? That is not always done, I certaily didn't therefore no chance of rupture.

I've had it done - no problems. I stayed awake for mine as well, seemed a simple proceedure.

Sorry to worry anyone unnecessarily. I am not saying everyone will get menopausal symptoms, just to look into it before you decide as tubal litigation can affect blood flow to the ovaries according to this website and others..
