Knee doctors over here please

Do I need to go to the GP?

I slipped over a few days ago and as I fell I whacked my knee from the inside of my leg on a stone step. It's really sore. I can walk, albeit slowly and I am having to drag my leg slightly. The more I walk the easier it gets, but As soon as I sit or lay for any length of time it seizes up and it's difficult to get going again. I can put my leg straight or it's quite comfortable fully bent but moving it anywhere in between is difficult, as is any sort of rotation.

I was hoping I'd just bruised the bone and that it would get better with time but four days on my DH is insisting I go to the doctor. I don't want to.

What say you, Internet knee doctors?
