Any quick help re upset stomach in teen

My eldest - on his way to school ran back, had to go to the loo really urgently. Also pain in lower abdomen.

Good spirits, was otherwise in perfect health this morning and is not looking for an "out" from school. But worried about leaving house!

Any quick fix (i.e. next 15 mins!) for upset stomach - just keen to avoid any dire emergencies - help - please?

If it's that bad that he cannot leave the house, I would say no imodium. Let it run it's course- he'll just have to miss school for a little bit. As he's not well I assume the school won't mind. Sometimes you can't predict when you'll have a bit of a funny tummy!

The trouble with imodium is that it blocks you up and if it's a stomach bug, that's not good at all, you need to let the nasties leave.

Hope he feels better soon! I suffered with some nasty tummy upsets due to stress in my school years :(

Thanks - I ended up taking him to GP as he (my son) was worried. She (GP) said same - let it sort itself out and just take the day off. So that's what he did. It's quite possible it's stress-related.

My son got that a lot in the mornings going to school .

I found pepto bismol tablets or supermarket ( Asda for instance ) "upset stomach " tablets were good .

Not as drastic as immodium ,but calmed the griping and diarreah .

Glad I'm not that age again - a school age kid I mean !

I would absolutely hate to be 16/17. 19/20 I might be ok with!
