Struggling so much to deal with the kids today

I have lost my voice, it was gone all day yesterday and it has been gone all day today. I cannot speak about a quiet whisper. Ds1 is getting pissed off with me, because he struggles with communication as it is, (he is 3) and ds2 (7 months) just seems a bit sad that I won't sing to him. I have really hadf enough, I have no patience for this!

be kind to yourself! do whatever is easiest to get through the day with everyone having an ok time.... is it just your voice? do you feel ill? if you can i'd get out the house for a bit before it gets dark... it used to break the mood and change the dynamic if everyone was having a tough day when mine were little. feed them what they will eat without complaint... put a dvd / the tv on.... early bath and bed. hth

Poor you colditz. so far I have fought off illness in the knowledge that nobody will hear me scream if I am unwell with baby and toddler. But your awful day is being empathised with up here.

FWIW my 2.5 yr old was amused for ages yesterday pushing buttons into a ball of playdough...if you have these things to hand and want some non verbal chilled out activity...

Yesterday I had one of those "no-no" days with my dd feeling sick and crying if not in my arms even for a nap. And I am not very patient either. But at some point I looked at her and everything made sense, I decided to dance with her and forget about everything else. She seemed to enjoy it! I am sure you can do something that cheers you up. Just accept the fact you can't control everything, let go, do your best, and that's it: we are only human!!!!

I guessed it'd be some ridiculous distance!

I've just given DS1 a load of strips of paper, and made those link chains with him. It's really impressed him and he's happy with that.

Oh that's a good idea. He is good with his hands, so will be agble to handle that, and will enjoy it too!

Have tried a drink of hot water, honey and lemon i do this and it does tend to help.

As controlfreaky2 says feed them what they will eat without complaint... put a dvd / the tv on.... early bath and bed.
