GTT/Gestational Diabetes - help me interpret results please

So hospital rang me to say I have GD and need urgent appt.
But have now seen the actual results and with the help of doctor google I think they are fine. Well normal glucose and after 2 hours is fine, the after one hour one a bit high. But the diabetes UK website just tells you what it should be after two hours and I fall within normal for this. Obv don't want to put me or baby at risk but do not want all the extra acts and meds and interference if all is actually ok.

Levels are:

At beginning of test (so after fasting and pre drinking the lucozade) - 5.7
After one hour - 11.4 (so a bit high)
After two hours - 6.2 (so back to normal)

Thoughts please?

Am going to post on health too.

I'm afraid with those results you have GD unfortunately, both on the fasting being over 5.5 and the one hour being over 7.8. The levels for GD are much more stringent than normal diabetes (for good reason).

For the best advice and support I would urge you to join this Facebook group if you're on there;

Good luck with it all, it can be pretty overwhelming to start with Flowers

I have had gd three times, in our area the fasting result would get you a gd diagnosis - the parameters are 4-5.5. We don't test after 1 hour but the 2 hour result is fine. The fasting result is what I always fail on too Confused

With regard to Vitamin D and gestational diabetes.

It has been shown, quite convincingly, that your vitamin D status has a significant effect upon the likelyhood of developing GD. Also pre-eclampsia, pre-term birth, need for ceasarian section , bacterial vaginitis etc. ( see the work of Profs. Hollis and Wagner. Medical University of S. Carolina.)

Many people in this country are low in Vit D. it would be a really good idea to get your Vit D level checked, and raise it , by sun, food, supplements if you have GD and you Vitamin D level is low.

Please have a good read over here : www.mumsnet.com/Talk/general_health/2421492-Vitimin-D-can-it-have-this-effect

where we are discussing levels, effects and reasons for such effects.

Hope this is helpful
