How do you get a 18 month old to wear her glasses?

You need Misdee - her DD3 has got glasses!

perseverance.

you can get rubber things that clip to the arms so they stay on their face (like baby banz sunglasses) but i worry that they will hurt themselves by trying to take them off and then flinging back in their face.

Just wanted to say good luck! My DS is supposed to have been wearing glasses since about 20m. At 3.5 and amny different pairs of glasses with different arms, nose bridges, characters on them and shed loads of bribery, he still refuses to wear them. My younger DD would love to wear them but she doesn't need any .

I will watch this thread with interest and see if anything is suggested that I haven't already tried, while I wait on a pair of Mr Men glasses....

My DS wore glasses from the age of 13 months. It takes lots of patience, distraction and determination but you will get there. Bribery is really useful e.g "we'll play xxxxx if you wear your glasses". Maybe buy something special which you only use for "glasses sessions". Loads of praise once they've worn them for a while. Eventually it clicks that they can see better with the glasses but it takes some children longer than others. Best of luck and let us know how you get on.
