I thought I had a cold coming, and what seemed to be a dry feeling in my larynx and a tickly cough. I then had a constant dry cough, headache and fever. I thought it would be over but two weeks of full on symptoms later it is worse and I have a dry / wet cough, raging sore throat, headache, fever, constant sweating, weakness.

The hardest thing is the cough as it will just not go away despite medications and it's stopping me from sleeping. Every morning I wake up and it's worse. I'm exhausted and emotional - I spent yesterday in bed and crying at my DH that I cannot cope. This is very out of character for me. I am usually a stoic trooper through colds and flu.

DH is insisting that I make an appointment with the GP today, but what is the GP going to do?

I had anasty cough for ages. Had one lot of antibiotics but not right type. So got clarithromycin after and that worked after 4 weeks with fever and feeling shite. I got it on London Underground in height of summer! Had to have an X-ray after dodgy ESR blood result. Conclusion walking pneumonia. Sure youll be fine but you may need a diff antibiotic if not had one already.
