Shoulder blade pain- any tips to ease it?

Yesterday I woke up with a stiff neck and shoulder, nothing painful just must have slept funny. Today though the pain has gone down my back into my shoulder blade. I've take paracetamol and ibuprofen and used a heat pad on it but it's not easing. Any tips please? I'm working so need to power though (but at home so access to most things). Thank you.

Rub either ibugel or Deep Freeze on it. Wrap frozen peas and sit with them against it.

Sympathies, I had this on Monday and it was indeed fucking painful :( Someone recommended to me to use a tennis ball as a massage aid - sort of lean the painful part of your shoulder blade against it and roll up and down the wall/floor.

For me the worst part was that I couldn't get my breath properly as the pain ran round my chest. It did ease off though, I feel fine now.

Ice pack also a winner, yes.

Try a sports massage. It's cheaper than physio and often the release and pain relief is instant.

Luckily it's not affecting my chest but does radiate occasionally down my upper arm.

I hadn't thought of ice, assumed it was muscular and heat was the way to go so I will try that.

Have also had the kids stand on my back which gave relief at the time but not for long. I'll did out a tennis ball, that sounds heavenly just thinking about it!
