Should I take DD (3) and DS (6 months) to doctors for coughs?

The little angels have been up all night coughing - DD, who's 3, worse than DS (6 months). She is quite `barky' but I don't think it's croup but I'm no expert. Should I take them to the doc's to check it's nothing too serious and find out if there's anything they can prescribe? We are with the army in Germany, where pneumonia and croup are apparently more common than in the UK (don't know why!) and DH is away in Afghanistan on the frontline of the global war on terror (his words not mine!) so I could really do with some sleep! Any advice please?

Take them. My daughter has a weird cough recently, went to see the doctor, he said it was just a cough that would go away. Three weeks on she still has a cough, I saw another doctor who ordered emergency X-Ray. Turns out she has pneumonia (and so do I). You are their mum, you know best, if you think it is an odd cough, go and put your mind at rest

Def take them. My DH is a GP in the military and would def not think you were wasting his time (if that's what you were worried about). It's hard being on your own when your DH is away and with your children being ill at the same time makes it so much worse. Take them and get them checked out it will at least put your mind at rest if nothing else.
