Pain over left ovary (maybe?)

Hoping someone can help. Had back pain in lower left side for about 6 weeks now, occasionally spreading around to my side. I don't know if is is connected but about the same time I started initially getting sharp twinges on my lower left pelvic area. This pain has continued and is happening more and more, sometimes it's really sharp but mostly it's just 'there'. It's been constantly throbbing today and when I went to pee, it's like i can't fully empty my bladder, as it's uncomfortable to 'force' wee out.

I can't get a dr's appt till Friday but it's really sore. Between that and my back pain I'm really feeling rotten! Is there anything I could do to help with this pain or anyone who has had the same thing??

I got sharp back pains that were like what you're describing when I had a bad UTI. I didn't know or realise and ended up in tears in pain and couldn't stand up because it had progressed. Is it possible to do with your kidneys?

Sorry I can't give any more advice. x

Like a pp said, it could be a UTI or it could be something like an ovarian cyst- they often have similar symptoms.

Perhaps try drinking lots of water and/or cranberry juice in case of UTI and take some painkillers? If it's a cyst they often pop on their own (mine did, my pain was as it twisted and bled into me and then several weeks later it burst) or if it's really big they can remove it surgically.

If it is an ovarian cyst it's often something that recurs, I can feel when I'm growing a big one (normally around ovulation). That makes me sound like a vegetable patch.
