itchy vagina and pain during sex

Please can somebody help me, as I am really at my wits end and becoming depressed due to this. I have had an itchy inside of my vagina for the past year on and off but every day. I also have non-smelling white slightly thick sticky discharge (i noticed this when the itching started). Sex has become painful (stinging sensation) so much that sometimes i just have to stop. I have had many physical examinations by doctors and nurses and they say I look normal. I was given treatment for thrush (didnt work) but the thrush tests all came back negative anyway, so it looks like i never had it. I was given pessaries, the tablets and the creams - absolutely no improvement. I have also tried sitz baths in bi carb soda and i use no soap and wear loose cotton underwear. PLEASE can somebody help me. none of my GPS know what is wrong - they say i look and test as normal. please somebody help me? I cant even have a sex life anymore, i itch every day and am becoming extremely depressed!

Have you asked for a referral to gyn? Have you had a recent smear and a swab taken for various tests? That's what I'd be asking for until they found out what was causing it x

I'd ask them to refer you to a specialist. Don't let them fob you off- you shouldn't have to live with this.

Hi anon97 I had to reply as I'm having trouble myself but not quite the same but basically while trying to solve my own problem of urinary symptoms I've read loads on these issues and there's very often a link with skin conditions like eczema etc in that region that is misdiagnosed as thrush etc. Could you ask gp to have another look and consider skin possibilities. Also there's vulvodynia which is really a useless term to explain any discomfort down there in the absence of other things like skin problems, thrush etc, everything looks and tests normal but it can cause painful if not impossible sex and burning/itching sensations. Might be worth going to a gynae or asking got referral from gp. Hope you get it sorted soon

I was going to add lichen schlerosis. I have this and it does cause extreme itchiness when it flares up. I was told to use hydrocortisone during flare ups.

I would be asking for a referral to a gynaecologist; this is not something that you should have to at all put up with.

Try calendula cream and quitting baths - showers are way better!

As with PPs, get a gynaecologist referral.
I had similar symptoms, can't remember the official diagnosis but was to do with tissue around my cervix and was solved by changing my contraceptive pill.
