Not visible to the naked eye
It was found 18 months ago when I was having a pre op
I had an internal scan which showed nothing
Unfortunately I work in a hospital so am able to dip it myself and its still there. It is the highest level on the dip
My GP's answer was for me to stop dipping
Has anyone had experience of this. I have no other symptoms but have always had frequency

When I was pg, my dip tests always showed blood, but nothing visible to the naked eye. I do have cystitis so know what blood in urine really looks like. I had kidney and bladder scans but nothing showed up. Then I was having a ante-natal hospital appointment (rather than mw) and the Dr said some people just always had this result with dip sticks and not to worry about it Confused I have to say that was 11 years ago and I've not had any other symptoms (apart from occasional bouts of cystitis).

Do you have any other symptoms?

I don't think my bladder empties properly. I have always had frequency but no other symptoms
I would rather it were not there though

Go to the dr and get a referral to a urologist. There is stuff they can do, it might be you are retaining etc

I had this for years, still do. The urologist said about a third of people do for no reason so it's quite common. I ended up with an operation as there was something wrong with my bladder lining. I had a lot of pain too though. I still show blood in urine on tests though, but feel better

My son has had this for several months, it's never been visible to the naked eye (was discovered during a routine dip test).

He is having treatment for a relapsed kidney cancer so obviously I was vert concerned but he has had every test under the sun -ultrasounds, CT's, kidney function test, tested for bacterial infections, viruses, you name it...

They really can't find any reason for it and interestingly they have sent samples off to the microbiologists and about half the time they cannot see any red cells under the microscope. His consultant suggested the dip test may be too sensitive for some people.

I was referred to a urologist after incidental finding. He did a cystoscopy(?) and found nothing. He said this is frequently the case and in his opinion it is very common and not sinister.

I had this - one frank (visible) bleed, ongoing microscopic (invisible) bleeding. I had a cystoscopy, an MRI, the lot: nothing. A year later, I had a UTI then ongoing pain and frequency, but no infection (and again, microscopic blood). Cystoscopy, ultrasound - again, nothing.

I've been diagnosed by my GP since then as having IC (interstitial cystitis) and sure enough, low dose amitryptalline and not eating spicy food or caffeine or fizzy drinks stopped the symptoms within days.

Now, I can eat all of those - but I still take a very low dose of amitryptalline.

One possible cause can be teeny polpys at urethral opening (first time, cystoscopy showed some) very common in menopausal women. Often, no cause found.

I totally get the worrying...but I do think you need to let go of it, unless something changes Flowers

My dh had this, with no other symptoms.

His was (is) kidney stones, but I guess your scan has ruled this out?
