Short cycle - bleeding when I should be ovulating?

Hi, I'm not sure what is going on. Bear with me it might be a long story!

After I stopped feeding DS (who is now 11 months) I had my first period after about 6 weeks, everything seemed normal, 5 weeks (I've always been 5 weeks) later I had my second again every thing was normal. This cycle though it all seems wrong. My 2nd period was just 3 weeks ago and on Tuesday I had pinkish spotting, I assumed ovulation bleeding as I was due to ovulate beginning of the week, yesterday there was more, but not enough for a pad and today there is more again. Not as much as a period, but I need a pad.

I don't quite understand it, I've always (since my very first period) been an all or nothing type of person, the flood gates open, 5-6 days of heavy bleeding the it all stops. I've never started slowly like this before and never in the middle of a cycle. I have no period pain where I normally am crippled with pain, my sex drive is high where normally right before a period it dries up. I had EWCM on Monday so everything points towards ovulation, but I'm bleeding?
I'm not on any sort of contraception (we use condoms) so nothing hormonal in my system. I'm really confused and wondering if I should be concerned. Anyone have any ideas?
