Strange periods after coming off the pill.

I came off cerazette at the end of October. I'd been on it for just over a year, and I had the contraceptive implant for three years before that. Before THAT I was on the combined pill, so I haven't had any "natural" periods for about eight years.

After coming off cerazette I had three pretty normal periods, with cycle lengths of 29, 25 and 29 days. Each lasted about 5 days. I was expecting a period last week at around the 29 day mark. It appeared to arrive on day 31, but after a short period of normal bleeding, it seemed to slow right to stop - there was a day or two of small amounts of brown bleeding/discharge and one or two small clots, but nothing else, and then it stopped. After no bleeding for a full day, I've just been to the loo and I seem to have started bleeding again!

Is this normal - is it just odd because everything is still settling down post-pill? To add to the confusion, I had two lletz treatments for cervical dysplasia over the summer, so I'm really anxious about everything gynaecological. I'm going to the clinic for my first follow up smear next week, so can maybe discuss it with them.

Anyone? After starting on Sunday I had what I would think of as a normal period, which had basically stopped by yesterday - no bleeding all day yesterday but I've just woken up to find it has started again. I'm so worried. I will speak to them at the clinic next week when I go for my smear, but does anyone have any experience of weird periods like this after cerazette?

Kind of similar thing happening to me. Had Mirena coil removed in October after 9 months (hated it - caused constant bleeding). Have had 3 normal cycles since (25, 23 & 22 days) although periods lasted 10 days & very heavy. Therefore, when had pinky brown discharge on day 23 assumed period about to start. However, had nothing more until today, 4 days later, although it's very light so far.

I did have scans etc just over a year ago due to odd bleeding on the pill (had been on it for years previously with no problem). I was found to have fibroids which were shaved back but not removed at the same time the coil was put in.

Like you, I'm a bit concerned so would be grateful if anyone could shed any light......

Incidentally, how old are you? I'm late 40s so wonder if it could be peri meno.

I'm only 27, so I hope it's not! I'm trying not to panic - I will see what they suggest at the hospital clinic next week.
