Very expensive toothache ??

Basically have lovely dentist who is private.
She has been trying to save a tooth for about a year for me because a crown is so expensive.
Last weekend the tooth fell out leaving the root only i think.
Have put off going to dentist basically because its going to cost me about £350 !
Yes today i have bl*y awful toothache.
What would you do.Am thinking about just asking her to take whats left out as you cant see it unless i HUGELY smile ! False tooth is even more expensive.
And whats the best thing to take for toothache ?
