Bloody digital thermometers - just taken 4 different temps!

Should I revert back to an old mercury thermometer? I know I probably shouldn't get too hung up on it but it seems a good marker of whether dc are getting better or worse. (Eg dd's temp shot up, turned out her cold had turned into a chest infection)

I know what you mean! Do they get unreliable with age or is it a feature of middle priced digital thermometers?

I hadn't thought of that, ours is about 9 yrs old! Wonder if it is worth investing in a new one?
