cradle cap type skin on toddler's head

ds (2.5yo) has like dead skin on the crown on his head. Kind of browny coloured - maybe like his tan coming off. Not flaky - but when I rub it off with my nail - it isn't red or anything underneath. He does sweat a lot on his head.
My friend also mentioned that her ds has it.
Is it just a sweaty thing?

Yes, I think so.

My two had it a lot when they were younger.

We found olive oil the best thing to help remove it - just rub it into the scalp, wait a while, then wash their hair, and it comes off.

My 3.5 year old dd still gets this sometimes I find combing with a nit comb after washing gets rid of alot of it.

Both my ds's still have cradle cap (they're 4 and 2.5). Haven't really tried to get rid of it - you can't see it and it doesn't bother them.

Olive oil or almond oil sorts it out in no time, baby oil is a bit glupy and made my daughter come out in bumps.

any oil, leave half hour, comb out, wash hair!

A hairdresser said it's often from not rinsing shampoos out very well. Or any product that you put in your bathwater.

My friend's husband who's a gp suggests coconut oil.

dd 4.5 has it too andI'm convinced it is because she won't let me wash her hair properly. I have become tougher about it now (because she does complain it itches otherwise I would leave it). I've gne back to using dentinox cradle cap shampoo for the last week making sure I massage her scalp and rinse well and it seems to be shifting.
