Hello, since having ds and having the implant nearly 3 years ago my periods have been erratic and when they do turn up heavier and more painful than before.
Not sure if this is down to the implant or having had ds but when I have my period I get quite irritated down there. I can't wear tampons anymore as they just aggravate me. Anyone else experienced this? I don't really like wearing pads so do you think a moon cup would work or still irritate me?

I would think the erratic nature of your periods will be the implant. Also, probably the flow although having a baby does alter your periods, sometimes in a good way sometimes not.

The irritation might be a longstanding thrush or BV which is flared up by your hormones. You can easily get this checked out by your GP or at a sexual health clinic. It should be easily treated and let you decide what protection you want to use.

I forget the length of time the implant lasts but have a notion that it is three yeas so maybe it's time for a chat about your options.

Good luck
