I am a SAHM. I have had this problem for more than two years. The scan did not show any anomalies. Sometimes I do not have it for a few months and then suddenly it all starts.
I have recently started updating my CV and looking for jobs. Lots of ideas in my head. Such deep thoughts give me headaches mostly in my left side of the head. When the pain starts it also spreads to my jaw. It is extremely painful and can last a few seconds but then it can happen many time whiting an hour throughout a day. I do not have this when I am calm but only when I am thinking too much about something.
The pain is sharp and knife-like twisting. It reminds me of the afterbirth uterus contractions. The same type of pain spasms, coming and going. I also have migraines sometimes so I know the difference.

I get something similar from clenching my jaw too much. I do it when I'm dressed but don't notice I'm doing it. I just try and be more aware now

Do you clench your jaws in the night? I have heard about it but did not know it can cause so much pain. I guess it is the nerve which is causing the pain. Would botox help? I have read botox helps to relax the muscles.

Yes at night but also if I'm really concentrating. No idea what would help I'm afraid but I think pain is caused by tight muscles in head. I just open my mouth really wide a few times to stretch it and run my temples and jaw

Sounds like you are grinding your teeth or clenching whilst sleeping. I do this too and have a dental guard fitted to wear at night to minimise the damage to my teeth (and jaw which used to ache every morning). If you can sleep with it in, it does help so go see your dentist and he will confirm this is what is going on.

Good luck!

Sorry, I meant to answer a bit sooner. Allypally999, no I am not grinding or clenching my teeth. I know the pain starts from thinking. I guess it is a nerve.
