Porridge oats in the bath!

I've been told that it's really good to put porridge oats in your children's bath if they have dry skin or eczema. Does anyone do this and, if so, how much should I use and, do I just fling it straight into the bath water, or should I be putting it in some kind of sock/tights thing to stop it from sticking to the kids? Thanks for your help in advance!!

Put some in the toe of a pair of old tights and knot it, then you can float it in the water. It's so soothing. Makes skin lovely and soft too.

Thanks anniediv - are you talking about a heaped tablespoon of oats, that kind of amount, or more like a cupful? Can you re-use the same old pair of tights for a while or do they get so gooky that you need to use new bits each time?

I would say you need to end up with a ball the size of a tennis ball. I used to use a new one each time. It sounds gross but is lovely.

It does sound odd but I've been told several times how good it is for your skin ... so I guess I'd better go and buy some cheap tights to chop up then! Thank you for helping me out there anniediv.
