It's 3 weeks tomorrow since I injured my wee toe. It's still really bloody sore. I have broken it haven't I?

I'm supposed to be running a 10k in 6 weeks time!

Is theer any point going to see anyone about it? I didn't go to see anyone when I did it as from what I'd read online they don't do anything for a broken toe anyway.

How long for a broken toe to heal?

Have you strapped it? Pop some cotton wool between your little toe and the next one, and don't strap too tightly, just enough to immobilise it. My little toe healed in less than a month, mind you I was 10 yo at the time, it might take a bit longer in an adult.

It has been taped up for nearly 3 weeks now. I'm just finding it very frustrating as I usually do about 5 hours of exercise a week. I just want it better now!! I'm getting fat(ter).

Can you do exercise that doesn't put pressure on it? An exercise bike, for instance, because you would be using the balls of your toes not your whole foot.

I've broken both my little toes and the one next to it, it all takes AGES to heal. You need to persevere with the strapping, and leave the exercise for the time being. Give it another couple of weeks - can you get your shoes on? Mine even healed slightly wonky so I went to see a consultant and he said there's nothing they can do, either before during or after, unless its sticking out at an angle!

I've been able to get shoes on ok and walk since I did it. I had a feel along it earlier and I think it is healing a bit wonky.

I've got a bike on a turbo trainer, so will use that for the moment.

I've broken my big toe before and I was told at the hospital that they only treat big toes, as they can affect walking, and they leave all other toes. However, I was also told not to expect it to heal any quicker than any other bone just because it's small. So 6-8 weeks?

I broke my little toe the middle of june, tried to tape it to the next toe but it was agony!
I just left it untaped and it took a good 6wks before it was better, and couldn't wear shoes for the first two weeks.
