Hi bit long but here goes, am 55 have had IBS for many years, but over past 8 months on a regular basis have severe diarrhoea with bad cramping which lasts about 2 hours then goes, I feel rough for a couple of days but then ok until the next time usually about a month later, but my recent episode left me bleeding when I wiped, with pain down left side and burning stinging pain just above pubic bone which I have had a couple of times before. Went to GP who checked back passage etc, did a urine test and said that blood was just where I had torn slightly, urine ok, but when she pressed above pubic bone to check for mass (her words) it was so painful I could not bear it and 1 week later I still feel slightly sick and uncomfortable where she pressed, today really burning again. I am being tested for everything and anything with a blood test and waiting on the result. But surely if it was bowel related why the pain above pubic bone area, I will have a scan if blood tests come back abnormal, but am really fed up being told everything is IBS. My thoughts are that these pains are period pains even though my periods have stopped not sure if you still have symptoms once periods stop. Bit rambly I am afraid but anyone esle with same problems any thoughts appreciated.

Have your ovaries been checked?

I have been told IBS too, GPs tell you IBS because it means they have to do nothing. I am celiac ...the celiac test will only come back positive if you have been eating gluten/wheat btw.

All the best!
