Sounds weird but let me explain. I suffer with panic disorder and anxiety and breathe quickly. I have recently started to meditate to try and learn how to breathe properly, i.e, from my stomach and not my chest. It took some doing to actually breathe in the correct way and finally I can do it and I feel a lot better and calmer for it.

Just wanted to let u know how breathing properly can make u feel so much calmer and is good for your posture. Also, my asthma has improved.

Meditation is fab, I highly recommend it to reduce stress levels and more importantly to breathe properly.

How fantastic for you You would be surprised(or maybe not) how many people cannot breathe properly, myself included. My brother is a yoga teacher and several years ago he gave my ds some instruction in proper breathing. He suggested this as my ds, who had been using a ventolin inhaler for years, was finding the inhaler wasn't as effective and there was talk of perhaps moving him onto a steroid inhaler. After practising the breathing techniques he had been shown his breathing improved so much that he hasn't used any kind of inhaler for years. His fitness has improved as he can now go on long runs and do exercise that he would have been unable to do previously. I keep meaning to do something about my own breathing but I'm ashamed to say that as with exercise, etc something always gets in the way. Keep up the breathing/meditation and I'm sure you will find that it just goes from strength to strength.
