Ovarian (dermoid) cyst

I've had a cyst before, but not a dermoid one. Can anyone answer a few questions...

In February time, I had a pregnancy scare, 5days late, feeling sick, not wanting to drink coffee (very, very unlike me). Then I had a period, but no pain (again, very very unlike me. I have very strong painkillers on prescription, regularly vomited/passed out before I had them). I still don't have any desire to drink any coffee, feel low level sick all the time (not going to be sick, just feel it and don't want to eat), can only force myself to eat toast in the morning. Getting pins and needles in my head again. Basically feels as if I'm pregnant although the symptoms are not as strong if that makes sense. I'm also getting flashes of being unable to focus on things, which i think started around the same time.

Is this normal for having a cyst? Should I be telling the doctor? I have spoken to the optician about my eyes who said it could be that my glasses strength needs tweaking. He has changed my glasses and I go back for a check in a couple of weeks. It's still happening though. He did say I might need to try contact lenses/different type of glasses.

Have you been diagnosed officially with a dermoid cyst?

If so I'd go back to your gynae for check up, they are weird old things & need watching.

I think that's the right term. The Gynae called it a teratoma and said it looked like there was bone/teeth tissue in there.

I am due to go back for a check up and rescan in a couple of months. Just if these "symptoms" is normal, then if won't call to ask about it. To be honest its playing with my head Confused

I have had a dermoid cyst and had similar pregnancy symptoms including nausea and dizziness. It had grown large and was removed along with half the ovary...keep on at them as it will just keep growing.

I had a dermoid cyst removed; before it was removed the main symptom I had was period type pain which made me feel nauseous. I don't particularly remember feeling dizzy though. When it was removed the surgeon removed the ovary as well (when I signed the consent form he said that he would try to save the ovary but may have to remove it as the cyst was quite large) and I have never looked back. I was immediately pain free and it was only afterwards that I realised how awful I had felt for so long.

Hope you get it sorted soon....

Spoke to huge doctor and he's shifted my next appointment from October to August. He'll also do a blood test for tumour markers. He said he's never heard of eye problems (but then he thought I'd asked him if he'd seen anything strange recently Confused ) so not sure if he understood me!

He seemed to be suggesting I could be pregnant (if I am he missed a 3 month pg when he did my last scan..! And I can't.) but said it was common to get pg symptoms. It does seem like watered down version e.g. Just nausea not actual vomiting just faint dizziness, not black out etc
