Hi
I went to have a Mirena coil fitted yesterday and wimped out as I tried having a normal coil fitted a few years ago and the pain was horrible (I went into shock). I've also read a few of the posts about side-effects which have scared me off
I've been happily using a cervical cap - NOT a diaphragm - for most of 13 years with no slip-ups (through my late teens and twenties) but now I've read that it's only as reliable as a diaphragm and since ds was born 3 months ago we don't want another one for a good few years (and anytime in the next couple of years would be absolutely disastrous). I can't now find anyone who knows how to fit a cap in Birmingham so the size could be wrong, although it feels OK to me.
I'm probably subfertile anyway as I have PCOS and took Metformin to conceive ds.
Is there anyone else out there still using a cap or who knows where to get one fitted? I'm starting to feel like the only one, my GP had never even heard of it.
Help please!
