Why do my eyes feel "irritated" and well, just odd?

I had my eyes tested in beg July and although I am a bit long sighted and my perscription had changed slightly they said my old glasses were fine. To be honest I dont wear them because I had them for work when I was in front of a computer all day and now Im not...havent been for years. Anyway,a few days after the test my eyes felt like they do now, not itchy, but tired, irritated, not red. I bought some golden eye drops and it went away, this last couple of days that same feeling is back. Is this just a minor infection do you think. Have put some drops in yesterday/today so hopefully it will clear up. Ive bought new eye make up today just in case it was my eye make up causing it. what else could it be. My eyes were healthy last month so surely it cant be anything serious.

A bit of hay fever perhaps? I wear contact lenses, but I have similar symptoms periodically throughout the summer.

I thought of hay fever too. I get itchy eyes when I've been mowing the lawn as it stirs up the pollen.

I'd go for conjunctivitis, I had it once as a minor irritation, no gunk, which led into fully blown annoyance and ouch over a few days....went to hospital as wasn't sure what it was and voila, one eyelid flipped back later, a bad case of conjunctivitis

Thanks for the bump. Still there. Have bought some eye drops to see if its dry eyes. Will go to opticians again next weekend I think if they havent helped. Sometimes I feel a tingle down the top side of my nose. Perhaps its eye strain, I just dont know, but Im going to have to get it sorted as I can think of nothing else at the moment.

Ive now booked an eye test, not until a week today though, and have phoned a doctor and he said to use eye drops and see what happened. I still have this tingling very very slight throbby feeling down my nose.....Im thinking now could it be my sinuses. I havent had a cold but I think sinuses can be like this. Anyone else had this?
