Scan while you're bleeding

I've had irregular bleeding for a while and upon inspection gp found my cervix to be inflamed. Two whopping courses of antibx later I'm still spotting and I'm off for a scan on Monday. Inly my period has decided that of all the irregular times to arrive, this weekend is best.

I've been told the scan will probably not be internal, but if it is, will they do it if I'm still bleeding?

I'm a tiny bit worried. It's almost definitely my coil irritating my cervix, right? RIGHT?

Ok that wasn't my period, just oozing black sticky stuff.
