My doctor sent a referral to the rheumatology department of our local hospital 3 months ago
I am still waiting to get an appointment

I went to my doctor, 2 weeks ago, to see if they could do anything to hurry things along as my pain is getting worse
Nothing they can do apparently, I just have to wait

Would you go back to the doc, call the rheumatology dept yourself or wait it out ?
Can it really take this long to get an appointment?

I have no diagnosis for my pain yet this is the reason for the appointment (more bloody tests Sad)

Personally I'd call the outpatients department, check they have you on their system. I'd also go back to the GP and ask for him/her to chase up the appointment as well as yourself, especially as your pain is getting worse.

That's what I was thinking but was wondering if I was just being impatient

My own doc has done tests all of which have come back negative
This is the reason for the referral
I am desperate to know what is wrong with me and get the correct medication and hopefully start feeling a bit more 'me'

Spoke to the doc today and she said its a busy department and I just need to wait my turn

Didn't even bother to check I was on the list
So I will need to do this myself I think

Yes, check you are n the list. DH had. Referral for an infected tooth. We kept having more antibiotics and waited and waited and waited eventually he'd had enough and moaned at the dentist. The first letter to the hospital had never arrived and he was not in the queue. If you ring you could also tell them you're happy to take a cancellation.
