I have been to see the doctor a few times over the last few years & recently a couple of times with a range of symptoms and each thing has been treated with some.thing separately but I'm wondering if they are part of a bigger thing... I'm fed up of feeling so ill.

I'm off to see the Gp tomorrow

Nausea every single day (which I take anti nausea drugs for)
Thirsty
Exhaustion
Dizziness
Lightheaded feeling like the floor is going to move and I will fall
Stomach cramps
I'm very cold all the time

Is it all in my head?

Diabetes or b12 defiency?
Have they done all your bloods again recently? I have the same symptoms as you except for the thirst and have been back and forth over the last month. They are retesting my blood again today for diabetes and my b12 levels are low but not low enough to cause the symptoms I have but b12 defiency symptoms are the same so might be worth checking for you?
Are you off work too ? I'm really worried I've had 4 weeks off now but I'm constantly keeling over and faint I wouldn't even be able to get there never mind do the job- its crappy isn't it :( hope you get answers soon

I've had unexplained weight loss too since Xmas about a stone now have you been checking your weight OP?

Oh wishful that's tough

No I'm self employed and haven't worked in 3 weeks ... more stress

Looking at medicine I've got, I've seen the doctor twice in 3 months - once because I felt sick constantly and he gave me metoclopramide and once with vertigo symptoms which he gave me cyclizine.

Does sound auto immune, hypothyroidism or Addison's disease (adrenals) may be possibilities? Blood tests for thyroid, need TSH, T3 and T4 tests and so etching calle distort sumac then test for adrenals though if underlying pituitary problem this may to be enough.

Check out postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome. Those are all symptoms of this. It is rarely diagnosed, a lot of GP's don't know about it, but it is probably more common than is realised. You can see if you have it by comparing your heart rate when lying down to your heartrate when standing, if it rises by more than 30 bpm after 10 minutes of standing you may have it.

Oh about 5 years ago I had a spate of about 6 months where I collapsed a lot - due to panic attacks

I had an ECG monitor thing done and the consultant said it was some thing to do with my adrenalin levels and my nervous reflex and then I would collapse.

Celiac disease? Think you can have that and not have anemia or low b12? My dr is checking that in a few week if I still feel like this

Wishfulmakeupping · 25/03/2014 09:35

And the obvious could you be pregnant? I've had to do 2 tests now (I knew I wasn't anyway but the dr thought that's what it must be)

Report
BitsinTatters · 25/03/2014 09:46

No not pregnant - I've tested a few times and im mid period atm

Keep going back to Dr's I've been 4 times so far and will go again later in the week if it carries on- something's wrong and it's obviously not a bug for either of us :(

Glad I'm not alone :) wonder if we have the same thing

I haven't felt right since March 2011 that was the first time I saw my gp about just feeling ill constantly. Low level ill. Then it flares up I can't function and I just flake out or if I can't flake out I'm unable to drive i'm so dizzy or constantly taking emetics.

This is miserable and I have 3 children..I'm not enjoying life at all

Oh Bits :( you're doing well looking after 3 children I've struggling with my baby dd even though I'm getting lots of help. I hope you get some answers soon- go back to GP.
I've just been back for blood test- they are checking my b12 and celiac disease too not just diabetes. Supposed to be going back to work on thurs but the dizzy spells are constant still last night so can't see that I will be able to

Lots of conditions spring to mind, check out wwww.dizzy times.com could be a balance disorder. have you had a urti or chest infection prior to the other symptoms starting?

Sorry about typos earlier! Not a doc but I have coeliac and hypothyroidism and family experience of addisons. It was supposed to say 'short synacthen test' earlier - an injection to see if you react to ACTH to see if adrenal problem.

Feel cloudy head still and nausea

Like it's 1 am but it's not and I went to bed last night at 7.30

I feel really sorry for DP picking up the slack

So I'm going to try and get to the GP. .. I feel I'm wasting his time as it's nothing obvious does that make sense?

Is it silly to go and tell him that there must be some thing wrong as I just feel ill all the time

Gluten ataxia, Hashimoto thyroiditis (you'll struggle to get tested in the nhs), and possible Coeliac or non coeliac gluten intolerance would be my non expert guess. Maybe with type 2 diabetes thrown in... All of these are part of metabolic syndrome, with a very storm autoimmune link.

It might be worth you reading "wheat belly", just google wheat belly blog, it's free and very interesting stuff. Diet may or may not be at the root of your problems (it was certainly at the root of my huge list of medical weirdness), But well worth giving an exclusion diet a go for a few weeks to see what happens... You may be able to avoid (or reduce) medication as well as feeling a lot better.

If you are interested in what you read in wheat belly (search for gluten ataxia within the site), you may want to look at "marks daily apple", a fantastic blog about diet and health.
