DS2 has been a bit off colour for a week or two, he has autism and mild cerebral palsy so its not that easy for him to reliably tell us how he is feeling. So given these symptoms do you think its just a virus that will run its course or should I subject us all to a trip to the doctors, something that he really doesn't cope with very well at all.

Severe headache - on& off but worse over the last couple of days, was rolling around the floor when his last lot of paracetamol wore off.
Dizziness especially when standing/walking
Neck hurts, I think he means his throat as he is more indicating the side & front but his throat doesn't look inflamed.
Chest pain, he has regular medicine for reflux so I think it is just reflux does seem worse at meal times
Pain in arm & wrist
Mouth ulcers, he has about 4 or 5 at the moment, again he does tend to get ulcers.
He swings from looking flushed to really pale & washed out.

He is however eating and drinking OK & does not seem to have a fever at all.

So shall I watch and wait or attempt to get him to the docs?

I have no idea what this could be but if this was my DS I would take him to the doctor, if only so I would stop worrying.

He does sound quite poorly. I think i would take him to be sure particularly if he isn't improving after a week.

How he gets better soon.

My dd has had a mild temperature for a week. I would be most concerned about the headaches. If he hates going to the doctor, can't you ask to speak to them on the phone. I assume you have a good relationship with the doctor if your son has those issues. I would phone tomorrow and ask to speak to a doctor first. If they want to examine him, then you can take him in.

I usually do just call & discuss with our GP but sods law, he is away this week. I guess they have a locum
maybe i'll see how he is in the morning and give the gp a ring then he had an awful night last night, waking every hour or so.

Hi Candykate, ear & sinus infection so given some antibiotics, glad I took him now. Sometimes I can be a little too relaxed over the small stuff.

Oh good, I'm glad you got it sorted. I was thinking about you!

I know what you mean, I personally try to squash down my hypochondriac tendencies and sometimes go too far the other way!
