I am going to have the op and wanted to hear from ladies that have undergone similar procedures.

hi oinker,
I had a myomectomy 6 years ago to remove fibroids.
what can I tell you?
had to have caesarians for my 2 dcs as a result of the previous op, but otherwise no longer term effects or problems.
what would you like to know?

I am due to have the op. I have fibroids and scar tissue. I have had 6 m/c and hopefully this will do the trick.
I really just wanted to know what effects the op had on you as I am a bit nervous about it. i have been told that should the perforate anything they would have to cut me open to stop bleed etc. That worried me. I was then told to go away loose a couple of stone and go back mid october for the op.

I have had surgery to remove uterine adhersions.....not quite the same I know. It basicaly invloved a D and C under a general aneasthetic. Was a bit sore afterwards, but went on to concieve two children naturaly. I had two sections but they were both for unrelated complications

Do you know the name of the procedure they are going to do? There are many ways of doing this surgery From the sound of it they are not going to make a big incision in you. Is it somemkind of micro-surgery?
Mine had to be myomectomy which meant they did 'cut me open'. the actual surgery took an hour or so, under general anaesthetic
then from what I remember I was in bed with a self-administered morphine thing for about 12 hours
think the catheter came out next day
and I got out of bed about 24 hours after, v unsteady
went home 2 days later I think
then for about a week I felt very dazed, not really 'with it'
I didn't have children then but I would not have been able to look after them, could not bend easily nor lift anything or carry anything heavy,
sore tummy where the incision was for about 3 weeks
but I was back at work and feeling normal within 3 weeks as best I remember.
It was more 'disabling' than the c-sections, but that could easily have been because it was a general anaesthetic, and a bigger cut.
but if you have micro-surgery your experience will probably be very different.

there are some good web sites with lots of personal experiences on them
try
this one

and don't worry!

CUT ME OPEN OMG

Ok, just calmed myself down. I was told that would be the worst case scenario, hence them asking me to loose a couple of stone b 4 the op.

The procedure I have been told I would have is an operative hysteroscopy. The cut would only happen if there was a perforation made which would cause an internal bleed. The hysteroscopy is inserted thru the cervix.

Thanks for the web details.. I will have a nose.
