Terrible back pain and spasms

Hi all

I would really appreciate any advice or information that might help me. It would also be good to know if anyone is in a similar situation.

I had a baby girl 12 weeks ago. For the past 8 weeks or so, I've had back pain. It has progressively got worse and worse. I am now at the point where I can no longer walk without assistance (most of the time). I cannot lift the baby or carry her. I've had to get someone in to help me as I also have a toddler to take care of. I get terrible back spasms.

I have seen both a Physio and a chiropractor. The pain is so bad I can't lie on my back and they both seem to make things worse, not better. My Physio made my back soasm five times at my last visit so I'm not going back.

I'm on medication - codeine, naproxen and diazapam, but nothing is helping.

I have an mri booked.

Anyone experiencing/experienced anything like this post partum? Please tell me it will get better!

Some advice, reassurance etc would be most appreciated. I am getting depressed in was all I want to do is look after my children and if ant do that.

Thanks in advance...

I can't help you but can't bear to leave this unanswered - hope my reply just bumps you up in active convos.

I would be back to my GP & demanding further investigation.

I hope you get some answers soon & get relief from the pain.

Thank you magimedi.

I just hate not knowing what has happened and how long I will be like this for...

Come and join us on the Back Story thread. Sorry you're in so much pain. Sounds like you're on the right drugs. Does heat help?

Have to say that in your shoes I'd not be having any more sessions with the chiro or physio until you have a diagnosis.

If diazepam isn't helping at all you may be better off without it. Sorry, can't chat much now but fly over to the other thread and a whole bunch of us will welcome you.

You are not alone.x

Thank you so much - I will post on the back story thread...

I agree about the diazepam, it makes me so sleepy and if it's not working, there is no benefit

Xx
