my tip for cradle cap.

while on holiday last week 17 month old DD's cradle cap (which she has had since birth over pretty much the whole of the top of her head) took a turn for the worse and started to really smell. It was a horrid putrid stench that made me feel quite sick.

We decided we needed to do something and so washed her hair as normal but then massaged the top of her head with the bath sponge.
We then combed it for as long as she would sit still (max 3 mins I think) and after doing this for about 3 days it was nearly all gone. I think there is probably only about 10% left now.

Maybe it was just all ready to come out, who knows. But it does look so much better now and the smell has completely disappeared.

And all because of a £2 bath sponge from Boots.

I was told that increasing the "good bacteria" would help my ds, and it did. I just bought some pre/probiotic yogurts and it cleared up.

I was told to use Olive Oil.

daft question but did your ds drink the yoghurts rabbitrabbit or did you rub them into the scalp?

I was just surprised about the sponge effect as we have been using olive oil, combing when damp, rubbing gently etc for ever but to no avail at all.

Hi mckenzie. Actually that wasn't a daft question as, reading back, I probably would have asked the same.
My ds drank/ate the yogurts-he liked the danone activia ones as they did lots of different fruity ones.
