Do I ask for ADs, sleeping pills or HRT?

Going through the menopause and am not sleeping well at all. Am permenantly tired and apathetic with no desire to do anything.
If I manage to get out of bed and brush my teeth I'm doing well.
Am also going through a pretty stressful separation ATM so that's not helping.
Have been feeling like this for about a year now and finally decided to make an appointment to see my GO.
Thing is I have no idea what I should say. Do I ask for sleeping pills to help me sleep better which should lift my mood in theory? Or do I ask for ADs which might make me feel less stressed and down so should naturally sleep better.
Or do I ask for HRT which may help with all my issues or not al all?
Just have no idea what to say when I see GP.

Go and tell him/her what the problems are. Part of the skill of being a GP is working out where the problem lies. HRT is most useful for the hot flushes rather than just poor sleep. They should assess your mood too. I sometimes try my patients with a few sleeping tablets to see if they make a difference. The important thing is to try and differentiate between depression, stress and menopause. Not always easy. I sometimes find these things take one or two appointments to sort out. Good luck

I would just tell the GP what you've said in this post (the first part). Let her/him prescribe, or help you understand the options for treatment.
Good luck and hope you get some help.
