I know, I haven't been looking after myself, lots of stress, sleepless nights, not eating, etc etc, so I can see how I've succumbed to this, but it's bloody painful! I need it to go before Weds, I'm pretty certain it's viral. I look a mess, I can't eat anything because it's too sore and I really need to buck myself up now! Home remedies appreciated!

My dh had tonsilitis until he was about 21 when they finaly gave up and took them out. Each time though he had to have anti biotics. My ds Had it from about aged 3 to about aged 8 about every 4 months or so and fortunately he grew out of it but again each time had anti biotics. Sorry!

Bugger it! I've a stinking headache and fever with it too! Am dosing up on Co-Codamol, there's no chance of seeing the doctor before Monday, just hope it doesn't get worse before then. I think my mother is cursing me, I really do! I've had such a spell of bad luck since we had words and she's mentioned to my sister that she thinks we are her 'cross' to bear. I reckon she's the one behind all of this!

gargle with thyme tea, my Mum always said (I'd add lavender too as an antibacterial)

Gargle with salt water as warm as you can tolerate it with a pinch of turmeric (turmeric is a natural anti biotic, and helps any swelling go down too), do it last tihng at night.

I have some lavender tea somewhere that dh got to help him sleep - never worked! I could drink that and gargle with the disgusting concotion fuzzy mentioned, finished off with a glass of wine! (for medicine purposes!)

Rhubarb not unless you want to be sick, gargle and then spit is the normal way to go.... I hope you feel better.

For sleep you need to bathe in lavender and drink valerian root tea...
