Slapped cheek

DD1 has very flushed cheeks, started 2 days ago. pretty sure its SCD. Is she infectious??

Yes. Ds wasn't allowed at school till the rash had completley gone (even though some dr's say they aren't infectious after the rash has appeared).
It's very dangerous to pg women so be wary of where you take her (esp in the first trimester when you may not be aware they are pg).

we have had slap cheek with one or other children most years. Its also called parvovirus and fifth disease. They can get rashes and really high temperatures right at the beginning. if i am remembering what the doc told me correctly ( and my baby had it this spring) it mainly effects children btwn 6mths and 4 years. I don't think its good for adults with compromised immunse systems

But she seems ok, she feels a bit hot, with very red cheeks.

No, she has a few small red spots

hmm mine have had something I'd have probably thought was Slapped Cheek except ds has had it already and it started on the legs spreading up, looking like sunburn . Hot to touch but they felt fine if a little itchy .
