I ate all the Galaxy Counters at 3am as couldn't sleep, but might have some Wispa bites if you ask nicely. Grin

Hooray for less pump checking, Gig. How's your throat? Any better?

Picture saw your post on having eyebrows tattooed. Very organised. Wish I'd done that.

Great news on the insurance, KitKat. We haven't got anything like that, but what a good idea! Smile

Have you got a letter today, Malt? If not call now. Honestly it's not fair of them. You need to know what's next and when. Call BCN.

I'd say lump feeling different's a v.good sign, Betsy. Smile

MAS, i have just opened your parcel. You are a love. Really cheered me up, so thank you. Not sharing the walnut whip though. xx Smile

Popping by to lob toasted, buttered bagels on to the trolley - am starving today for no good reason.

And to see if Smee is out - she is, and drainless! Good.

Also, hurrah for pumpless Gig. May you stay pumpless.

MAS, you are a fantastic artist - thank you so much!! I have an idea, will email you asap.

Urgh, aunt flo just turned up (TMI sorry), first visit to my house since 2007 (thanks to recently removed implanon) so can't complain I guess. Also proves I was right when I told DH I had ovulation pains two weeks ago and my lump was really aching and tingling - I said it felt like the oestrogen spike from ovulation was making it grow, he told me I was imagining things - he should know by now I'm always right! Grin

Yay for gigs being pump less, fingers crossed it gets better :)

betsy yay for shrinkage/softening

kitkat I watched Stepmum and also The family stone soon after diagnosis. I enjoyed both and didn't really associate either of them with my own situation, probably easier when it's not breast cancer though :) anyway I really liked Stepmum but can see perhaps not most uplifting viewing for chemo!

MAS good news about car apart from the cam belt :)

gigs yeah for getting rid of pump, and end of rads, now to rebuild, those cyclists will keep mowing down old ladies and threatening western civilisation until you are bionic, automatic, systematic, hydromatic, ....greased lightening! (you can tell I was a stage mum, I know the lyrics of them all Grease, Annie, Rocky Horror Show, Wicked etc etc......) You'll be defying gravity too.....

Perhaps we should live blog Margaret v Luisa. I hope she doesn't win, but she seems to be playing the game rather well now, did have a smug air about her at the firing I saw. But then she thinks she is a star come what may......surely not, she had some more bad publicity this week for dating a pimp, and not having a problem with his night day job .

Betsy I used to be able to tell when I was ovulating from my painful tits and a feeling in my stomach, and just feeling a bit warm, Iam impressed you are so at one with your tumour though Grin Do mention that to your Oncy, do they not do anything to reduce your hormone load when they do the pre op chemo, at my hospital they are very hot on hormone therapy as a first line of treatment for Hormone receptor positive tumours. I had a stick like tumour that my surgeon thought had probably been non palpable lumps that joined in the month I found them, escaped being multi focal though, but he did say that staging takes into account the length of the longest dimension regardless but it was probably, though not proven, better to have a 1.7 by 0.5 tumour than a 1.7 by 1.7 one

kitkat yeah for payout, it isn't compensation, but it helps.

amber I would check the wording of your policy, and challenge, these insurance companies do try it on and when you have enough on your plate without Cancer as you do, they take advantage. I have been shocked at some of the garbage they have come out with to avoid paying out paltry sums. They seem particularly bad on their frontline with orders to evade by any means. You only start to find people who you can talk any sort of sense with when you have ratcheted it up at least three levels. However aren't brokers meant to be on your side, sort of. I know they get commission from the companies but they have industry standards that give them a duty of care to you.

Sorry if I am being a dog with a bone with this but I get really hot under the coller when I see businesses being run so badly, it doesn't exactly encourage expansion of their markets, behaving like shysters. It is too easy to get away with not bothering to rig up their systems to the needs of those with a long running /chronic conditions. I have now helped influence DHs employer's decision to fire two of them, one tried to tell me my Consultant was too expensive and I should switch to a cheaper one, perhaps one with a Bogoff offer on new tits? Hmm

Some Reuben's Brownies on trolley for new thread gigs he is opening a refecttoire so deffo venue for next meeting

Hugs to everyone else.

Tosses lemon loaf on trolley with lovely slightly burnt caramelised edges Smile

Malt Was Olly Murs good? Worth making an effort to see? He seems a jolly chap and with jolly songs.

DH at home and seems to have the impression he has an entitlement to a secretary "Can you get me some cards printed" Drew him a map of where he can go Wink

Back from lunch, sat in the sun very nice
Gigs good news about the pump
Betsy I had the merina coil which had to come out when I was dx so like you hadn't had a period for years till a few weeks ago
Copt olly was really good, he does seem a really nice chap and was genuinely really pleased to be supporting robbie. He did all of his hits then later came back and sang a duet with robbie

Right latest question from me (possibly for *Betsy) - I still have my mirena coil in and my tumour is E+ . Do you think I need to remind someone (if so who?) or will it not matter until the chemo ends?

thanks.

Afternoon All

Sorry kitkat I know nothing about coils . I do recall some of the other ladies having theirs removed though , so I would def point it out to your team .

DHs uncle died yesterday . He had bowel cancer , plus various others .
He's being buried tomorrow .
I'm a bit hmmm about going . As last time I was with DHs aunt , she was very upset about talking to me .
I could see she was thinking that it wasn't fair that I got remission and he didn't .
I just don't want to upset her again .
What to do ???

Also the lovely Bernie Nolan died today .
Not going to blind you all with drivel about her "fighting a battle" .
But it does make me a little sad that she's gone .

Sorry for the depressive post .
Just feeling a bit shit today .

kitkat I would check with your consultant (although it might be easier to do this via your BCN) about the coil. Not sure how the coil works, but I was told to take implanon out before we even knew hormone status as a precaution. (I'm ER+ and PR+ - implanon is progesterone based, so it was a good job I did.)
