has anyone had treatment for vitiligo?

I've had vitiligo all my life, and I have a few more patches which I disguise with self tanner. I'm fair skinned so not a problem at all in winter, but it does bother me in summer. I had PUVA treatment as a teenager, which was slow and unpleasant on my stomach, but worked quite well, although most of the patches came back years later... Anyway, I know that although there's still no proper cure, treatments have moved on and narrowband UVB is supposed to be quite good with no side effects. Also, my research points to a possible link with vit deficiencies and gluten intolerance, so I'm taking supplements and have gone gluten free a couple of weeks ago. This is a very interesting web page I have been looking into www.vitiligoprotocol.co.uk.
Any recent experience with mainstream treatments or alternative medicine, or any personal insight into this condition?

I have had Vitelligo all my life. It is connected with autoimmune conditions of which I have three mixed connective tissue disease, coeliac disease and pernicious anaemia. As I take quite a bit of medication for the others and their symptoms can be very draining I have never had any treatment for Vitelligo - particular as rheumatologist felt that as nearly 50% of my body is affected it is unlikely to help.
My other symptoms were a mixed bag of joint pain, lack of tear and mucus production, extreme tiredness to name a few symptoms.

God, poor you, it's the least of your worries then... interesting as I have read about the connection with coeliac disease/gluten intolerance... do your o you top up vit D or allow yourself some natural sun?

The connection is due to them all being autoimmune diseases. I try to do 20mins outside each day without sunscreen to ensure bit D is topped up.
